Details

Cycling in Andalucía short break

4-day getaway and some fabulous cycling in an "undiscovered" part of Southern Spain. The Sierra Subbética offers a sea of olive trees, Mediterranean woodlands and endless rolling hills, with soft grey-greens, earth tones and bright white Moorish villages. Plus a generous dose of sunshine any time of the year. Accommodation at an excellent rural hotel with swimming pool. After 2 nights in the country, you move on to Córdoba, where you'll have an entire day to explore the ancient mosque, well-preserved Jewish quarter and flower-filled patios. Option of booking a flamenco show in the evening, then sample the excellent local tapas on an outdoor terrace. Overnight stay at a perfectly-situated hotel in the historic city centre.

Day 1: Arrival in Priego de Córdoba

Arrival in beautiful Andalucía and settle into your comfortable 4-star accommodation. After today's journey, you may wish to take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool and then enjoy an aperitif before dinner.  

Challenge: Travel to Priego de Córdoba.

Day 2: Cycling routes from Priego de Córdoba

Choose among several options for cycling in the area (15km to 41km long). All three routes include a visit to the village of Priego de Córdoba and of course the joy of riding along endless country lanes, winding through olive orchards with views of historic Moorish watchtowers. 

Challenge: Cycling excursions from Priego.

Day 3: On to Córdoba

The second part of this trip shows you Córdoba, this beautiful and historical Andalusian city. Visiting the mosque, the Jewish quarter and the typical patios is a must. Optional booking of a flamenco show in the evening and then finish with an excellent tapas tour. 

Challenge: Explore the beautiful city of Córdoba.

Day 4: End of Program

Today, after breakfast, your program ends.  

Challenge: Departure from Córdoba.
