Cycling levels:

Easy biking in nearly flat landscape; also possible for people with little or no bicycle experience. The daily distances are approximately 30-50 km in general. Bicycles with up to 3 gears can do the job. All our adult rental bikes have at least 21 gears.

Highlights of the Corfu Trail & peaceful Paxos

This self-guided walking tour will show you the highlights of the Corfu Trail, a trail on this Ionian Island in Greece of spectacular natural beauty.
Explore the town of Corfu, with its maze of streets lined with alfresco cafes, markets and Byzantine buildings.
This walking tour will take you to another Ionian Island: Paxos. It has remained very authentic and picturesque, featuring Venetian architecture, white beaches, clear blue waters and lustrous vegetation. In the end of this walking tour you wander amidst wild flowers on the slope of Mount Pantokrator admiring the stunning views over Albania. You will encounter small time-forgotten villages where real Greek food and refreshments are served.

Day 1: Arrive in Mesoggi

Arrival on Corfu airport. Taxi transfer to your hotel in the village Mesoggi located on the east coast of Corfu, on the  southern side of Corfu town. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Challenge: Travel to Mesoggi

Day 2: Roundwalk Korysson Lagoon

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the start of the walk, on Issos Beach. Walk along the impressive Korisson Lagoon before heading for the East coast via Chlomatiana. The walk ends at your hotel in Mesoggi.

Challenge: 15 km, 100m climb, 100 m descent, 5 hours

Day 3: Corfu Trail central Corfu

Transfer from the hotel to Stronggyli where you walk along the Corfu Trail. A pleasant foot path takes you on the slopes of Agii Deka, the highest peak of Central Corfu (676m). You follow historic mule paths and go past traditional mountain villages. Travel back from Sinarades to Corfu (town) by public transport.

Challenge: 15,5 km, 650m climb, 680m descent, 6 hours

Day 4: Corfu - Paxos

Free morning to explore the attractive streets and squares of the town of Corfu, before sailing to the charmingly petite island of Paxos.Transfer back to your hotel in Paxos where you will have free time to relax and explore.

Day 5: Circular walk on Paxos

Circular walk on Paxos Island accompanied by the song of cicadas. You walk through the charming town of Gaios, uphill , and past several rural villages. Then you cross the island onto the cliffs in the west side and go to Tripitos Arch. After visiting the old capital,Ozias, you go down to the coast and cross the bridge to Moggonisi Island. From this point you can return to your hotel by boat or on foot.

Challenge: 11 km, 220 m climb, 200 m descent, 3,5 hours (or 4 hours)

Villages along the way: Gaios, Ozias, Mogonissi

Day 6: Paxos - Corfu: Walk on Corfu

Transfer from your hotel to the port of Gaios where you will atke a "Flying Dolphin" boat early in the morning, from Paxos to Corfu. From there you will be transferred to Rekini. Walk along the foot of the Pantokrator Mountains in Northern Corfu, going through "time-forgotten" villages. At the end of the walk you will be transferred to your hotel, next to the beach. In spring there are numerous orchids on Mount Pantokrator.

Challenge: 11,5 km, 455m climb, 115m descent, 3,5 hours

Villages along the way: Valanion, Sokraki, Spartyllas

Day 7: Walk across the Pantokrator

Today's finale takes us to the ridge of the Pantokrator for stunning views of the nearby Albanian mountains. Picturesque ancient villages, including the almost-abandoned highlight of Old Perithia, then you will descend to the tip of Corfu's northern coast, at the very end of the Corfu Trail.

Challenge: 19 km, 630m climb, 850 m descent, 6 hours

Villages along the way: Porta, Mengoulas, Perithia, Almiros, Ag. Spyridon

Day 8: Departure

Transfer to the airport and departure.

Villages along the way: Barbati

Getting there and away:

Corfu has its own airport welcoming direct flights from many European countries, including low cost carriers and charter flights. There are also domestic flights from Athens to Corfu Airport. The transfer from the airport to the first accommodation is included, so you only need to arrange for your inbound flight.
